In Judges 6:8-16, the Lord reminds the Israelites of how He delivered them from Egypt and freed them from oppression. But even after these mighty works, they forgot to trust Him. Enter Gideon, a man who saw himself as weak and insignificant. Yet God called him a “mighty man of valor” and assured him, “Surely I will be with thee.” This declaration is not confined to Gideon’s story—it is a timeless promise to all believers: God is with us in every battle.

Practical Application: Press Forward with Purpose

God calls us to remember the past victories not to dwell there, but to move forward in faith. Paul writes in Philippians 3:13-14, “...forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” This scripture ties perfectly with the story of Gideon.
